Become an SDM Associate

The Society of St. Eugene de Mazenod (SDM) warmly invites you to become part of our family as an SDM Associate, joining us in our mission to love all, especially the unloved. Inspired by our founder, Fr. Gerard Francis OMI, and guided by the example of St. Eugene de Mazenod, we are committed to serving the most vulnerable: orphans, widows, the poor, and those whom society often overlooks.

Our founder, deeply moved by the words of James 1:27, embraced this call to service: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” This Scripture embodies the core of our mission—to care for those in need, regardless of their background, religion, or status.

As an SDM Associate, your prayers are crucial to our work. We are reminded in Ephesians 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Your spiritual support strengthens our priests and brothers, empowering them to bring the love of Christ to forgotten places, especially in rural parishes and foreign lands.

Beyond prayer, we also welcome your financial assistance. Your generosity helps us provide for the needs of the most vulnerable: offering education for the poor, care for orphans, support for widows, and sustenance for struggling families. You can make a lasting impact by helping us support our seminarians, particularly by assisting with their studies and formation until they are ordained. It’s like adopting a seminarian and walking with them on their journey to priesthood.

By becoming an SDM Associate, you live out the call to “love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). As we read in Matthew 25:40, “Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Together, we can fulfil Christ’s command to care for those in need, ensuring that no one is left unloved or forgotten. Let us see Christ in the suffering and offer them care, compassion, and love.

We invite you to join us in this sacred mission. Through your prayers and support, you help continue the legacy of Fr. Gerard Francis OMI and St. Eugene de Mazenod, bringing the love of Christ to the world.
