A Welcome Message from the Superior General

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to the official website of the Society of St. Eugene De Mazenod (SDM).
With hearts open to the Spirit and united in our missionary calling, we invite you to journey with us in faith. Here you will discover our story, our mission, and our shared commitment to serve Christ in the poor, the marginalized, and those most in need of His love. May your visit inspire you to join us in living our theme: “Strengthened by the Spirit, United for the Mission.”

The Society of St. Eugene De Mazenod continues its journey of faith and service under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us each day to live our calling with fidelity and zeal. Rooted in the Gospel and nourished by the Eucharist, we strive to be authentic witnesses of God’s love in a world yearning for hope and renewal.

“Strengthened by the Spirit, United for the Mission” expresses the heart of our vocation. It reminds us that the Spirit empowers us not for ourselves, but for the mission entrusted to us — to proclaim Christ, to build communities of faith, and to serve especially those who are poor and forgotten. Unity in the Spirit is our source of strength; mission is our shared response of love.

As we continue to walk together, may our hearts be open to the promptings of the Spirit. Let us renew our commitment to be instruments of peace, compassion, and evangelizing joy wherever we are sent.

United in prayer,

Superior General and Councillors

More than forty priests from our Congregation, along with priests from other congregations and clergy of the K.G. Kandigai Vicariate, concelebrated the Holy Mass. The presence of numerous Religious Sisters and Brothers, as well as the lay faithful, further enriched the occasion as all gathered in prayer for the newly installed leadership.

Following the Holy Mass, the cultural program began with a prayer song seeking God’s continued guidance and protection. Mrs. Kay Leverington, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Rev. Fr. Anthoni Adimai, SDM, was the Special Guest. The SDM Councillors and Fathers were present as Guests of Honour, and their gracious presence made the celebration more meaningful and dignified.

The SDM Social Work Centre joyfully celebrated the Republic Day of India on 26th January in collaboration with the DREAM KIDZ FOUNDATION.

SDMs with Widows: A Ministry of Care

On 11 November 2025, we, the Society of St Eugene De Mazenod (SDM), joyfully celebrated our 34th Foundation Day with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration. We gathered in prayerful thanksgiving, honouring our shared mission of faith, service, and spiritual renewal. The recorded celebration is now available to view online.

We, the SDMs, on October 17, 2025, with the newly elected leadership team of the Society of St. Eugene de Mazenod (SDM), joined by brother priests, brothers, children in our care, widows and people from various places, gathered in solemn unity to commemorate the sixth death anniversary of our beloved founder, Very. Rev. Fr. Gerard Francis OMI. The Holy Eucharistic Celebration, held with reverence and gratitude, became a sacred space to honour his life of prophetic service and unwavering compassion.
Through prayer, reflection, and the breaking of bread, we reaffirmed our commitment to Very. Rev. Fr. Gerard’s vision—a mission rooted in love for the marginalised and dedication to spiritual renewal. His legacy continues to inspire every step of our Society’s journey, reminding all present that his spirit lives on in our shared devotion and daily acts of mercy.
