OUR NAME
Rooted in God, the Holy Trinity, and our Christ experience of self-emptying love, we are inspired by the Holy Spirit and guided by the rich traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church. We wholeheartedly embrace the universal call to love and
compassion—especially toward those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. With humility, simplicity, and a deep commitment to service, we strive to live out our mission by bringing the radiant light of Christ to a world in need.
We are known as The Society of St. Eugene De Mazenod (SDM)—a name that reflects our profound reverence for our patron saint and our commitment to live out his virtues and values in today’s world. Guided by Sacred Scripture in every aspect of our lives, we especially draw inspiration from James 1:27, which reminds us: “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress.” This call to compassion ignites in us the desire to emulate the exemplary life and enduring legacy of St. Eugene De Mazenod, serving those in need with love and dignity
OUR NATURE
We are a Society of Apostolic Life, divinely called to fulfil a prophetic and apostolic missionary vocation (cf. Canon 731.1). United as a community of priests and brothers, we live in fraternal fellowship, grounded in devotion to God and committed to the evangelical counsels of chastity, obedience, and poverty. With humble hearts, we strive to embody the prophetic and apostolic spirit of our calling, fostering unity, shared purpose, and mutual support in our mission (cf. FLC. 1).
THE SDMs
The Society of St. Eugene De Mazenod (SDM) comprises both clerical and lay members, bound by a common commitment to serve the most vulnerable and marginalized. Guided by our Constitution and the directives of the Church (cf. Canon 731), we seek to live out the evangelical counsels with harmony, compassion, and selfless service(cf. FLC. 1).
